Default Wanting to build a pulling truck, need advice

I am just starting out and would like to build a pulling truck. I am looking at different trucks all cummins turbo diesels. Any advice would be nice. Thanks!

any particular pulling class you want to compete in?

looking for mechanical or electronic injection control?

you can do a 2nd gen 12v and build it up, or you can convert a 2nd gen 24v to a p-pump and build that up...

or go to a common rail for the electronic side and make power pretty easily there...

or if you have money to burn, go for the 6.7L common rail and build that through the roof...the extra displacement does help..
