I just bought a 97 5.9 4x4.my mechanic has one.it was a dog . it had a broken transfer pump.so we replaced that . the strainer was full 0f junk so we replaced that and fuel filter>it got a little better but still lacks the over power it should have. any ideas out there

 

They are pretty doggy in stock form a 3k gov spring kit would wake it up nicely

 

BHAF and 4 or 5" exhaust will help also

 

prolly has dirt in the injection system. pull the injectors and have them tested for pop and pressure. check the supply fuel pressure and get the fuel return valve that is on the inboard side of the injection pump. injectors are prolly clogged. How many miles on the truck

 

can make a small adjustment to star wheel ... will dial in fuel a bit quicker and get it spooled and off the line a bit better ......
