I got a 95 12 valve. I need advice on achieving 500 hp and still have a great daily driver. What would I spend? This would be the first 12 valve I've owned and im not clueless on it just need some advice and learn the tricks of the legend 12 valve. im new to diesel bombers as well. look forward to hearing from you guys! thanks

 

Is your kdp taken care of? If notyou should do that first.(killer dowel pin)
then gauges
then the usual,exhaust,intake
then the sky's the limit.

 

500 HP is a big first step. What you should do is think in diesel terms instead of gasser terms. HP is torque times RPM, so build torque and get what you get for HP. Cummins don't have high RPM, but make oodles of torque.

First are transmission mods. Then things that make it more drivable. KDP for sure. Then, governor spring kit - 3500 rpm, adjust fueling, advance timing to 16*, turbo orifice, and add BHAF and 4"exhaust. See how it runs and what you break, then start with injectors and larger turbo.
