not to steal a thread or what ever but i was just about to make a thread about this, i did the timing on my old 89 cummins with ve pump, and i did it 1/8 of an inch, everywhere i read about p pump its like 13 to 18 degrees, cant i just bump the mark 1/8 just like old style pump?

uh... kinda you can mark the balancer but we are talking thousands of an inch so advancing the timing by an 1/8th of an inch at a time is pretty inaccurate.
