smarty jr code clearing question

quick question ive read that you can clear codes on more than the vin locked truck does that include non diesel cars and trucks?

im not positive on this. but i think as long as its a dodge. i know they wont read ford or chevy for sure. but you can read another truck like ours for sure while the unit is locked

thats what it says in the manual that came with mine "While
Smarty is VIN# Locked, it can still be used to read and clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) on a vehicle and ECM that it is NOT locked to."
