LOWERING 4X4 12V
Hey all,
So I have done a lot of searching and still haven't found an answer. I have a 98 4x4 SCLB and I want to take the 4" blocks out of the rear and loose a couple leaf springs as well. Does anyone know if doing this will put too much strain on the drive shaft? Is it necessary to have the drive shaft shortened if I drop the rear end? Last question, I have heard you can cut a coil out of the front and drop the front a bit. Does lowering the front, say 2", also require shortening of the drive shaft?
Thanks for everyone's help

Why do you lift a 4x4 truck? i just like the look of it mostly and want my truck to ride lower. Are these shims just somthing you buy at your local auto store? Thanks for the replies also!
yes they will change the angle,if u are looking to lower it by a couple of inches just take out the 4 inch blocks and add 2 inch blocks, most blocks have angle built into them.the reason for using gas engine springs is just that, they will sag more due to the weight.
