Default temp guage pegged at 230?

So I went to pull apart my dash in order to fix my 4 wheel drive light now I just have a new now I just have a new problem there was a wire or cable looking line behind the dash the only part that stays connected when you go to pull the dash out it seems as though there's a clip on there that broke I took a zip tie and got the part in the place it seemed to be originally except the temperature gaug which is pad tha at which is pegged at 230!!! I tried to mess with it some more but I had no luck idk if the cable has anything to do with it but it worked before and now I'm clue less any help would be great thanks

I bet your temp guage pegged at "WTFH!" is just because it's no longer grounded. find its ground and reconnect
