Hey guys, just bought a 1997 Powerstroke 4x4 F250 crew cab with 209k. Pretty decent looking truck and seems to run well. Not knowing a lot about diesels it's hard to say if it runs right though. I've changed the glow plug relay. put ball joints on it and had the front end aligned just to get started. I also have purchased glow plugs just to make sure it will start quickly (haven't installed yet). the relay was shot so that improved the starting 100%, still not quick though. doesn't look to have any leaks that i've found yet ( I hate leaks on anything). It doesn't seem to have the power I think it should have so I need to check with a friend who has one and let him drive it to see if it's sluggish. Anyway glad to be a part of this community and hope to learn, and converse with all the diesel dudes on here.

Welcome to db! If it hasn't been done yet a change to synthetic oil will help in quick starting. I have a 97 and mine will fire within the first 1/2 revolution. Much faster starting then superduty 7.3's.
