What "California area" are you in. If it is south of LA then good luck. I was hoping to find some events in SoCal to give me a taste of back home and the best i could find is some oval dirt track racing and 1/8 mile drags. I know there is some pulls up by turlock and what not but never ventured up that way much. Then there is a big pull in redding i believe towards the end of summer. I am not from here originally and will be headed back to WI in 7 days so I cant tell you much, just what I experienced.

Good morning! I need help with an opinion from knowledgeable people. I have never owned nor do.I know much about a diesel. I dont even really have need for one. But I am.in the market for a truck and have found a very nice if old 97 3500 reg cab duelly with157k miles two wheel drive 6 spd that gets amazing mpg. It kelly books at under $5000 even in mint shape.....the seller wants far more than that.
1. Whats a reasonable price if its in great shape?
2. What problems can I expect from it at that age?
3. I like diesels but is the mpg lost on tires & maintenance or is it about an even call to a gasser?

Please text answers and thoughts to 731-733-1891
Thanks!

How much is the guy asking for the truck. Is it stock or what has he done to it?With 12valves there are a few things to do to bullet proof the motor. The killer dowel pin has to be pinned for one example.
With stock sized tires you should get decent milage. But with taller tires, the milage may go down a little.
