ive got a 05 cummins with fully built tranny, 90hp injectors, edge juice w/hot unlock, silver 66 turbo, fass, bd cp3 pump, etc.

theres a weird scraping noise coming from my truck, not sure what it is. doesn't happen under boost or idle, just under light to medium throttle when im building less than 10lbs of boost. i was told it could be the turbo because the exhaust housing(74mm) is alot bigger than the intake(66mm). any ideas?

 

Well if it is your turbo to be scraping itd def be loose and have play in the shaft so pull the intake and see if you can make it move

 

i had the intake off today. theres no "in and out" shaft play, but there is a small amount of side to side play. how ever i was told by a diesel mechanic its acceptable to have a small amount with this style turbo.
