Hello everyone. Back in July I pickup a new to me dodge 2500 mega cab with the 5.9 cummins. I had it for around month and a half and it started to slip in the 1-2 down shift so I did and of research and found that you could adjust the bands. So I adjusted the band and it has been shifting fine but I did notices that after I adjusted the band the set bolt was flush with the set nut. I am wanting to know how much life is left in this transmission. The truck has 61000 on it now it had around 59000 when I adjusted the band. I am looking for answers because I have a trip planned in march and don't want this transmission to go on the trip. I am going to be towing around 8000 pounds.

 

When I had the band's adjusted on mine it lasted about 2 months and started slipping out of second so I took it in and had 2nd gear replaced and the throttle actuator and a brand new tc, it never left me stranded but I didn't want to push my luck. Best of luck to ya
