Default Engine swap question

So I have got a 06 24 valve common rail in the truck and its dead and I have got a 24 valve with a VP pump that is a good runner. Can I swap over the common rail injection to the running engine and put er back in. Trying to do a cheep'ish swap just to get back on the road.

Any info is awesome and greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

no, head is completely diff. fuel tubes wont cross over to vp head and piston bowls are diff. I know where a complete 06 engine is.

What are they asking for that?

What is the difference if fuel bowls? Is the 06 a bigger dish or smaller than the 03 engine? Also all the aside. Can I just swap the head and timing cover to fit the CR pump?

No, the piston design is radicaly different between the years. Spray angles and a lot of other things don't match up.

Your best bet is a used engine, 04.5-07 5.9 will work fine.
