Default annoying question

i have read and read different threads about which programmer to get... so i just decided to make my own and tell you exactly what im looking for. i have a 07 5.9 it has a AFE air filter and 5'' from the turbo back. I'm wanting to help my fuel mileage and a small amount of extra power for pulling the 30' camper every once and a while. i am not looking for the baddest thing out there to get an additional 200hp... i just want something thats gonna serve the purpose to me. i'm new with the diesel stuff and the only other help i have is friends telling me to get banks and smarty when ive seen them rip out their trannys ... also i really would like something that i can fix my speedometer with since im about 7mph off using a gps i have 4'' lift and 35" tires

The smarty is great and will fix your speedo. You just can't go crazy with it or you will kill your tranny. You can always upgrade in the future if you get the Smarty now. Other turners are cheaper and will meet your needs though. I wouldn't mess around with Banks. I had the technicooler and high ram on my 07 and actually got worse fuel economy.

Thanks for the help I mean it seems smarty is the way to go I just don't know if I can trust myself not taking it about level 3... How does the efi live work? I though most of that was tune your self stuff which I can't do... Also I was really thinkin something with a moniter to watch things just incase...I just don't like the pillar gauges

If you need gauges get the Edge Juice with attitude. Or Smarty and Edge CTS. Gauges are important so get those before you go adding power. Just remember over 3 is a few thousand dollar tranny build. That should keep you in check. Not a clue about EFI, maybe Jerrod will chime back in and tell you.

Efi live you can pretty much hop it up to any number as long as you have the supporting mods to do it. But it pretty much reprograms your computer to any settings you want.. I'm wanting to do it to my 06 once I get the money for the other mods.. there are some Efi live programers with different settings.. or you can program it once and leave it were it is. There was a thread in here were a guy did efi live on the dyno compared to a bully dog w/ boost and it out performed. But if you know of someone with a dyno and programing skills you can set up the way you want it. Cause if i do efi live now ill my max would be 400 till i get everything I want done then ill I go higher. Efi live is amazing till you get crazy with it on a stock setup. I would also look into a fass or air dog fuel system and gauges first.. cause it seems dodge lift pumps suck!

Airdog/Fass, Torque converter and valvebody, gauges, efi live. Done. Bulletproof and reliable. Tow, and economy all in one.

I say Edge CTS. Fuels my compounds just fine plus a lot of add ons. My back up camera comes in handy.
