Ok, just picked up my '93 today and the cruise dont work. What is the most common problem with them?
Also, im unfamiliar w/the cruise on these trucks. When i push the "on" button it stays down instead of just clicking back up like it will on a newer truck. I believe this is how they work, am i right?

I would start by checking the fuses and then find the cruise servo (look under the left battery) and trace the vacuum lines for a leak. If you don't find a bad fuse or a leak in the hoses, check the servo and you might find that the battery leaked at one time or another and screwed it up.

Not sure on yours, mine has two. One on the side of the dash you can see when you open the drivers' door, and one on the left inner fender. Look around the dash on the drivers side.

I knew mine was different than yours so that is why I said to look around. If you want to, just go to the servo with the cruise turned on and check for power there. If you have power, step#2!!

Chances are, its your clock spring in the steering column. The switches go bad occasionally, but probably not the problem. Your fuse box is right above your knees if you're in the drivers seat.
