Default I am fixing to get a Duramax

I sold my 1994 6.5 today and told myself that if I ever did I was getting a Duramax to replace her any suggestions or pointers or what to look out for?as I am now in the market

Lb7's had injector issues, check balance rates if you go that rout (01-04) strongest pistons, cheaper, good truck other than injectors
Lly had head gasket and overheat issues (04.5-06) injectors outside of valve covers, vgt turbo, cheap
Lbz pistons are the weak link in this one if you crank it up (06-07) but they have the six speed allison, and tend to be a little more reliable than the others
Then there's lmm and lml they are the new style but I don't know which you are looking for

From what I hear most people seem to think the LB7 was the best one!

LBZ is the best from what i've heard. But every truck has its ups and downs! Good luck!

Love my LBZ, but ive had problems, as does anyone who ever buys a vehicle, they never stay 100% forever, just depends on use and abuse
