Default vacum pump

i got the truck somo six months ago a 96 ford crew cab short bed heavy duty (got a floating dif back an dana 50 front) got a few problems the previus guy did not take good care of it no maintanence, but the thing is after new brake pads, filters etc, the engine got less noisy but i could hear a scraching sound (like when you scratch metal whith a nail or some thing) lubed up the poleys whit some wd40 and white lithium grase and the sound got worse i think it comes from de vacum pump, after a while it got less loud but it still is very unpleaseant do i have to change the vacum pump
sorry bout the spelling
tehnks in advance for any help apreciate it

Welcome to Diesel Bombers...

Take the belt off and try to turn the vacuum pump pulley by hand... If it's tough to turn, pretty good sign. Another sign is stiff brakes where you have to stand on them to stop... Lastly, screeching coming from that area is pretty much a sure sign.

Just time to replace the vacuum pump. It's not difficult. Three bolts is all...
