Default spartan tuned tranny problem

OK everyone last post i was asking about my warranty. Bought the truck and warranty, have just made about a 400 miles trip and then installed the spartan 350 tune. As soon as i took off with it the transmission started slipping and jumping all over the place and would hardly pull itself back into my shed. Turned it down to the 125 tune and don't have any problems, is it possible i didnt load the tune right or is it just to much for the truck. Any info would help......

Well you really shouldn't beat on them right away, the trans should go through a learning process first. Just drive it easy for a few miles. They say the quickest and easiest is start from a dead stop, go 1/4 throttle and let it shift through all the gears. Come to a stop, do it again at 1/2 throttle, same thing at 3/4 and then full. Supposedly it should be good to go then.

With that said, I've had some tunes for my 6.0 that never seem to shift right for the first 1k-3k miles. I hate those tunes. My Innovative diesel tunes shift right the first time, right away. It's still a good idea to let it learn a little bit before beating on it though.

Thanks for the reply i done some reading this weekend and talked to spartan they told me the 350 tune realy isn't supposed to be ran without a built transmission. That being said i am currently running the 275 and did the trans relearn and it seems to be doing fine other than the hard shifts witch i am told is normal. My other question to any other 6.4 owners. I am only seeing 14 mpg at 70 with the tune and 4 inch exhaust, is that normal or should i expect more..

Are you filling it up until you see fuel in the neck every time? What other mods? lift/tires?

That sounds kind of low, but if you're out beating on it all the time I can see that.

Tons of guys ran the 310 tunes without issues. This isn't the first time I've heard of transmission issues with the spartan stuff either.

i figured on the tanny problem it was because i didn't do the tranny relearn. I ran the 275 from indiana to southern missouri at 70 mostly the whole way and drove as light as i could after making the whole trip a 2 tanks of fuel i had an average of 13.5 on one tank and 14 on the other. It is a crew cab short bed 4x4 with 373 axle and 35 trail grappler.

Truck also has afe cold air intake on it... I bought it used and left the maf from previous owners truck in it, could that make a difference, not throwing any codes or anything.
