i bought a 2005 cummins last week
check engine light was on and there was no overdrive but the truck ran and drove.
if the truck hit 2000 rpms it would accelerate on its own....
we unplugged some wires and plugged them back in and now the truck will not start at all...
Anyone have any ideas wat is goin on with this thing... mileage is 250k

 

If your talking about the engine rpms staying up after you release the pedal that is normal. Check your batteries and clean your grounds. Any guages?

 

when the rpms hit 2,000 the truck will floor itself until u put it in neutral.. all connections have been checked...im very confused here

fixed the problem... it was 5 bad injectors

 

Check the injectors, if the tips are leaking, it will cause the engine to run away. You'll have to do a return fuel test.
