Hey all I'm new here but hope someone can help me out. I drive an 07 kenworth aerocab with flattop sleeper. My issue is the stereo started intermittently not working, still light up but no audio. Sometimes it would work for hour or a week. past month though hadn't made a nose. I got a new stereo off the local kenworth to try but same thing no audio. Now i hear a pop in the speakers when i first plug it in and I'm sure all 6 speakers are not gone the same time. They said at kenworth that stereo runs through the ECU? Would be odd if it did.
Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? I'm going to take a speaker and jump it to the back of the radio to see.

Update! The radio works but only when i jump a wire from positive on a speaker to ground...just touch it and radio will work for 10sec to 10 min....I'm driving down the road with the deck on the dash so i can jump the wires every few minutes...def a bad ground i think.

 

Just ground the stereo ground wire to a screw that goes into the body of the truck and if need be you can tap into the fusebox for 12 volt power for the power wire to the stereo

 

Already tried that made no difference. Maybe it is the computer!
