I just bought a used 08 f250 and it has some issues. Among those issues includes the check air filter light. It was used and the guy who hadnt didnt know much about it. He said the check air filter light was on but would go off after cleaning the filter, so I replaced it befor driving home. The light went off and was good for about all 400 mi home but right as I pulled in to my house with it the light goes off again Do I have to clean it that often? why would the light be on again? could it be do to the cold air intake on it, black max programer or EGR delet system? any help is greatly appreciated since its so expensive to get these things worked on and I just spent all my money on the truck!

I have a button by my filter on my 08 F-250 that I can reset the air filter light.

 

Is the filter minder tripped? I'm assuming it's still there... hit the reset button.
