mad Need Help bad!! Weird things happening

So first off I am new to this site as well as the diesel scene. I dont know anything about these motors and I am having weird problems. I have a 96 F250 supercab turbo diesel 4X4. A few days ago when I left work I noticed if you went past 3/4 throttle the truck would go back to an idle and the Wait To Start Light would flash on for a second and go back out. The truck idled fine and ran fine other than that. Well just the other day I went to get on the hywy and it did the same thing but at part throttle. And I had no pedal what so ever. It would just rev up anytime you pushed the pedal down. So I shut the truck off and started it back up and upon giving it gas it jerked a c ouple times and took right off. Never did it again at part throttle just at 3/4 throttle. So I replaced the pedal and that didn't fix it. So this afternoon I went out to start the truck to move it and at first it just cranked and wouldn't start. After a 3rd try it started and immeduiatly it did a real quick rev up on its own and then back to idle and then it did it again and then the truck just shut off. I started it again and it did it again. I noticed that the wait to start light wont go off. And if you just turn the key to the on position and dont start the truck theres some solenoid looking thing right by the fuel filter that clicks about every 15 seconds or so. I am lost and no nothing and this was my daily driver. Dont even know where to start. Please help!!!

The glow plug relay is the one by the fuel filter. It should not be clicking on and off, just on once when you turn the key on and off about 10-30 seconds later.

Otherwise I would have to have it hooked to a scanner to tell you much more. Could be an ICP sensor or an IPR, could be CPS... None really fit. What fits is the Peddle, but you say you replaced it.

Well I had a ford diesel mechanic out here this evening and he scan it and it shot out like 100 codes. The PCM was messed up. He has me fixed up now. He told me to throw my edge evolution box in the trash. He thinks that was the culprit. So now with the truck in stock mode it feels like an absolute turd. I would like to find something to use for more power for towing without screwing up my PCM again.

... So your Ford tech gave you no information but blamed the Edge unit...

If he didnt replace the PCM, then there was nothing wrong with the PCM.

If an edge unit completes its programing without issue, then it will not cause any issues days or weeks later.

Yes he did give me info. And yes we did replace the PCM. His guess is it was the edge box that caused this. The PCM was locking up his scanner as well. All the wiring and everything looked fine to inlude the inside of the PCM that was in the truck. Edge recieved my box back and they said there was a software issue in their box. So they shipped me out another one. I'm a little reluctant to use it though. The truck is running great now other than its a turd without the extra power.

if you replaced the pcm and had the tuner fixed then use it, if they fixed the problem that they found and they are usually pretty good with software repairs. don`t be scared you have the power in the tune box use it I think you will be fine and glad that you reinstalled the tune with all the power U need.

They sent me out a new box and cable. I am going to probably use it.

Glad you got it fixed. Your lack of power can come from a weak HPOP or a bad ICP or a IPR sensor. seen weak power caused by the IPR a couple of times out here..
