I had to read up a little, not too familiar with the getrag myself. It looks as though most are using a 5/30 motor oil or a 5/30 synchromesch tranny fluid. I don't think it will be too thin and going synthetic will help.

I'm not sure about running it in the tcase. I know a lot of duramax owners that run 5/30 motor oil in theres but with the dodge, everything I've seen is just the universal atf.

is this a np205? there are a few options depending on how hot or how cold the weather is on the t case. if it's cold they take motor oil if it's warm it's atf.

Transfer Case,NP205......GL-5
Above -9 F......90
SAE 80W-90 Synthetic Gear Lube (AGLQT)
SEVERE GEAR 75W-90 Synthetic EP Lubricant (SVGQT)
75W-90 Synthetic Long Life Gear Lube (FGRQT)
Transfer Case,NP205......SJ
Above 32 F......50
Synthetic Powershift Transmission Fluid SAE 50 (CTL05)

if it were me I would just run some severe gear in it. Most 205's had gear oil in them in the older vehicles.
