i am curently running aimsoil, and its time for a oil change. i dont have the money to put amsoil in it, and im tired of putting so many quarts in it between oil changes. my tuck has some oil leaks so i go through oil. my question is, does it hurt it to go from amsoil back rottela?

Ya, unless money is no object, yours isn't the best scenerio for running it. My last truck was kinda the same but of course I ran it anyway.
You can switch back no problem.

yea i think rotella's better anyway, they put a detergent in it so it keeps everything alot cleaner. i run it in my powerstroke, the oil is actually clean like its new when you pull the dipstick out after changing it. it might actually be better.

"i think rotella's better anyway, they put a detergent in it"

That's the best joke I've read in a while.

Yes they and all oils have some amount of detergents. I think it was interpreted that you meant amsoil didn't have any....hence the joke comment. AMSOIL is one of, if not the most fortified oil with additives, such as detergents.

Sorry DieselDanBoy....didnt mean to make you the butt of a joke.

Rotella is good oil and theres lot of factors to consider when comparing oil - but Rotellas performance doesnt come anywhere close to Amsoil.

One more thing about Rotella, going to have a god awful oil smell for a few hundred miles.
