Thumbs up Changing Your Fluids....

too Amsoil is one of the best things you'll ever do for your truck! I finally got around to swapping out my trans and transfer case fluid this past weekend and all I can say is  I should of done this a long time ago! My 6spd shifts sooooo smooth! It's like driving a car! I have the manual transfer case and it slips in and out of gear like KY. When I put the transfer case into low, there is no grind! If you've been think'n about changing over, I strongly recommend it, you won't be disappointed!

A big THANK YOU to Heath for take'n care of me!

I've got Amsoil in my Engine and tranny and as soon as I get some axle seals fixed it will go into the axles as well. I too would recomend it. However on my transmission did not improve at all. It might have degraded a tiny bit. I don't know what fluid was in there before I assume the stock fluid. From as far as I can tell the NV5600 is a pretty finicky beast and what works on one may not work on a different one. From the research that I've done some like it some don't. It's mostly a case of trying and find out. I've heard that Limited slip additive is supposed to work pretty good so I think I'm going to try that and see.

I would also suggest that if you have never run synthetic before, that on the first application that you limit the mileage to about half of the normal change interval due to the synthetic kind of cleaning things out, I have heard that this should be done when making the change...

If you a have an older higher mileage engine then yes a person may want to do as you say, but he has a 2006 so his engine shouldn't have much gunk inside it.

Did you over fill the tranny when you swapped out the fluid?

Any good words on Amsoil in the Allison? Does it require a full flush? Or can I just drain, change the filter and fill with amsoil?

It requires a flush. The ally doesn't use synthetic. You never want to mix a conventional fluid with a synthetic.
