Default Gear Oil

I know that gear oil is not ment to be burned. But If you put a quart of new gear oil in everytime you fillup will it hurt anything.

Looking for a cheap active of more lub in the fuel and I can come across gear oil cheap.

i have never heard of some one putting gear oil in their tank, but a quart of 2-stroke oil works and wont hurt anything cause it is meant to be burned and it is ashless.

I used to throw some in every other tank until i bought some Stanadyne.

gear oil is really thick it will probably just sink to the bottom of the tank and take a while to dilute, your better off with 2 stroke

Wouldn't run my 02 without 2 stroke in the tank, cheap and no additive I've seen can match it for lubricity. I do add a cold flow improver in the winter.

Just thinking about this again still going to use 2-stoke oil but what does the ash do. Does it plug up the injectors?

Everyone uses ash less 2 cycle oil so that they don't have to worry about ash problems.

I have been using the 2 stroke for close to a year now and it gets better mileage and it seems to be a little more quiet than it used to. people that don't listen to it all the time think I am nuts
