Cetane Booster? Anyone?
Upon browsing the (outdated) Powerstroke Website, I saw a video talking about how a healthy diesel should be running fuel with a Cetane rating of 40 or more; and that most pump diesel, even though it doesn't indicate it on the pump, is only carrying about a 35 Cetane content.
The reason the video said was soot buildup in the PCV valve. Said the engine would run cleaner with better fuel economy.
The video goes on to say that you should run Ford's Powerstroke Diesel Cetane Booster...4oz treats 35 gallons.
It looked to me like the website was mostly referring to the 6.0 and the 6.4, so I called my salesman and asked if I should be running the booster in my engine. He called me back after speaking with a technician, and said no additives are needed.
Is anyone running Cetane Booster in their engine? If yes, are you seeing any improvement in engine performance or fuel economy?

I have had a couple people tell me they saw an improvement when using an additive. The cetane should actually be at 50.
I run ours but can't say I really saw an improvement. It does allow for an easier, cleaner burn, hence reducing soot levels.
