Anyone running Off Road Diesel, in a non Taxable application for the higher sulfer content?

Does the offroad diesel have more sulfur?

All On on-road AND off-road diesel in the USA are ULSD diesel.

On the pump it says up to 500ppm of sulfer.

Actaully after reading that info, OFF ROAD DOES have 500ppm of sulfer!

In respect to refining - I find it hard to believe that they would have BOTH ULSD and LSD. Especially after the refinerys spent big dollars doing upgrades so that they could produce ULSD.

Johnny Cetane 07-27-2007 09:20 AM

i find that hard to believe too. especially since they're pushing so hard to get everyone to believe ULSD compatability and all.

Mopar1973Man 07-28-2007 06:31 AM

Just wait... NO SULFUR DIESEL is coming!

Here is the spec sheet

Damned EPA - they are not going to be happy until Im walking to work !!

Johnny Cetane 07-29-2007 03:19 AM

it's not the EPA. it's all the tree humpers and carpet munchers lobbying the EPA that are causing this.

next on the list.... carbon dioxide filters for all human because the population explosion is ruining the planet.

i'd like to add that if Mopar1973Man has taken the time to post his findings in this thread then you can bet your sweet, pimply ass that he has given his due diligence in researching the topic in the depth. he's not going to lead you into some new fad so take his words to heart people. check out his links and read them in depth. make the time.

I would run nothing but Stanadyne Perfromance Formula Fuel Additive, its a "proven" product!

Wax Modifier
Wax Dispersant
Freeze Depressant
Deposit Modifier
Corrission Inhibitor
Wate demulsifier
Anti Oxifidant
Cetane Inhancer

I am not endorsing Stanadyne and have no motives too... I stand behind Stanadyne for many reasons other than making a profit.

Most do not know that BD's sister company is Valley Fuel Injection that has 30 years of experience, through the years I have been with BD I have seen thousands of pump failures and rebuilds. I am not saying that the failure were caused by 2 stroke oil or that the failures would have been avoided if they were using Stanadyne. The problems associated with pump failure IE Lubrication, Water, Poor Fuel Quality etc.. can be avoided with the proper additive. Rather than treating your fuel with many different products for gelling, waxing, water contamination etc.. Stanadyne works very well as a no gimmick all around additive and includes a cetane enhancer. Lubrication is the only benefit from 2 stoke oil which is great if that's all you need and is likely to be completely safe but will not treat other issue like the ones I stated previously.

Not sure on the price difference between Stanadyne Formula and 2 stroke oil but it cannot be much more, if any?? Its probably tougher to find Stanadyne due to the fact it is not over advertised like the wall of products you find at your local automotive super store. Ask most Diesel Fuel Labs (injector pump and injector re-builders) what they use, they may say Stanadyne or some other (not so well known)product but I bet they will not say 2 stroke oil.

Just my 2 cents,
