Just wondering who on here is running waste oil in there cummins, what setup you have on your truck and what blends have been most successful for you. Been out of the loop for awhile and Im starting to get back in to the wmo thing and wanna key into what everyone else is doing before i setup my next truck. I have a pretty sufisticated filtering setup so i think that parts good. I have an 01 cummins and plan to start with 50/50 diesel/oil to start with then may plumb in my second tank and heat exchanger later on down the road along with a possible p-pump swap..... And go.......

so i have a 150 gallon waste oil tank in the back of my peterbilt that a fill with the oil i drain out of the trucks i srvice, all the oil going in is delo 400, and each truck i pm gives me about a half to 3/4 gallon of diesel from the filters changed, to the 5 or so gallons average of oil, the larger truck yeild more, then it goes from the truck to the up flow processor, 30 then 10 micron cimtek filters, then to a 16 gallon mixing barrel that gravity feeds to a 5 micron wh filter, i think im going to stop using rug in the summer and use either d/2 or kero to thin, its nice since i know where all my oil comes from and it already has diesel in it. im running a newer style fuel filter on my 91 cummins, fleetgaurd 1251, do not use baldwin filters, i have 80 truck running them and we are switching the whole fleet back to fleetguard.

what i do is put diesel in first, then motor oil in a big tank, then circulate it which mixes better and runs thru a 2 micron filter and into another tank. then from that tank to the truck. truck loves it

Nice. Im gonna start with a 25-50% blend with diesel and mineral oil and go from there. Ive got a two tank processor. Start by pulling oil from a drun and then pump it through 3 water sediment filters filters down to one micron. Then it goes into the first tank on my processor where is it heated and i settle out any remaining water an may mix in a light thinner. Then i pump it out of that tank and through my centrifuge into a second tank so all the oik make one complete pass through the fuge. Then i keep ot heated and let it recirculate in that tank and through the fuge for a few hours then it goes in a drum for storage and use. Usually do 50 gallons at a time.

Im not sure how my VP is gonna handle the oil but we'll see! I have some friends that use my fuel to and its working good so far on there ford and gm 6.2 also my buddy has a p-pump 24v and a 2 tank system and runs 100%. I may be there eventually

I've read that using waste oil from a Diesel is not a good thing, can't remember the reason, but I read it on here. I'd like to come up with a cheap simple system to filter oil on a small scale with the way fuel prices are going.

so I have been filtering I am in process of finishing my diesel 12v this summer I will start burning it

my filter process is real simple it starts with a oil fall like a waterfall only oil with a series of magnets real strong ones then the first open top barrel goes through 2 filters 200 and 100micron I then let it sit for a week or so then I put in a nylon that has about a cup of polymer crystals this will absorb all the water out of the oil then I let it filter to the next barrel 25 micron and the last barrel is a 1 micron this is all gravity it takes time but I have 3 sets of them going right now

Centrifuge is the only way to go. Still pull quite a bit of stuff out even after going threw a 1 micron filter

So why are you tossing the 10 gallons that came out of the pan and why are you screwing around with all those filters? All ya need in ONE 2 micron filter.

And as for diluting the oil doesn't the truck have diesel tanks on it?? Why spend $5,00 a gallon on kerosene????
