I've added atf and leftover engine oil to my LBZ for 90,000 miles. No harm. I run lucas every tank in my new lml. It looks like engine oil as well.

Lucas is just to help lube fuel system due to ULSD and seem to give me 1mpg accross the board which exactly offsets the cost. :tu:

As for ATF... I think the big key factor is that you need to run WELL USED ATF. From what I understand, you can't even burn new ATF, so once it's well used up and the friction modifiers are toast, it's safer to burn. This is probably a "watered down" version of what I understand of it, but I haven't exactly done a ton of research on it, at least not as much as WVO. Now getting back to lubricity, 5% bio diesel is the best. If you're looking for just an additive, Opti-lube was at the top of the list for lubricity with their XPD formula. |
I don't work in a lab, but I do cover over 50,000 miles a year. My 06 has a zf-6, southbend dual disk, egr is deleted, tuned for mileage.... The proof is in the pudding I guess?? Nothing special about it. Tank to tank I gain +/- 22 miles if I add it.

You don't have to work in a lab to read test results FROM a lab. I don't know what truck you're talking about when you refer to your 06 either... your sig says 2011 LML. Your 06 is a Chevy?Ford?...?
How big is your fuel tank? If it works for you, go for it. I can't help but wonder how much better it could be using a product that has scientific results proving it's effectiveness...? Here's the test, if you care to read. Lucas is one of the few that actually caused lower lubricity than base diesel (base diesel isn't exactly what you get at the pumps, so it might be even worse than this). As I commented LBZ in my first post the 06 is a duramax as well as my 2011 lml. Could the lucas be raising the btu rating of the fuel thus the mileage increase??:s:

If you think about it, used trans fluid burns well but what about all the clutch and other tiny particles from the internals of the trans. i dont see how that could be good, even for an older engine. If you ask me... Heck no trans fluid stays away from my engines!
