Default Off road diesel question

Is it true that if you leave off road diesel in the sun for a week or so it will turn lime green like regular diesel??? It's just red cause of the dye??? And is that the only difference???

I know the color is the only difference, but I've never heard of the leaving it in the sun thing

It's red so if someone checks your tank, they know it's (off-road) diesel you didn't pay taxes on, which makes it super cheap but illegal to use on the road. At least, that's why around here.

Seems like it would take more than a week if it did change colors.
Our off-road diesel is kept in barrels, a tote, and a tank but they're all out of the sun so not sure but the red might fade off or something.
