I recently drove from Florida west thru lower AL and MS thru LA and TX, then on to AZ VIA NM. Headed north thru UT and ID. Came home by way of MT, WY, SD, Iowa, MO, IN, KY, TN, AL and finally back to FL. Trip plus drive around on vaca was 9.5k miles.

Cheapest fuel was in MO $2.82 a gallon just off the interstate, could be cheaper else were. ID was the worst $3.13

At $0.31 a gallon x a normal 34 gallons = $10.54 difference per fill up.

ID, SD and MT where the only places I saw red dye at regular fuel stations and the cheapest was $2.32 in Thomson Falls, MT. Which had the wierdest diesel pump I have ever seen, it had four grades: Summer #1 and #2, Summer 50/50 (#1 and #2 blend) and red dye.

I'm originally from MT. Just never had to pay attention to the diesel pump b-4. Lotta loggers hauling fuel into the woods up where i'm from, got the ranching and farming as well.
