Default So I'm trying to make biodiesel out of WVO, and I'm kinda in the planning phase...

I've been thinking of large vessels, (basically 55 gallon drums), but what about large old aquariums?

Seems perfect, water tight, and see through so I could see what's going on.

Anyone got any ideas on the subject? Right now I think its a hell of an idea, until one of you burst my bubble. But burst away, if there are no problems then there is no progress.

What about the sealant that is used to hold and seal the pieces of glass together?

There for a second, I thought you had got me. But I did a little research, and while some say silicon hates bio, some say it isn't effected, including this site.

So I'll have to so some more research to learn for certain, but I'm leaning towards the not effected side.

If the stuff in the standard fish tank won't hold up you could cut apart the tank and re glue it with RTV gasket silicone, It may work better.

Another option would be using UV activated glue, I use this when installing frame less shower doors. It is incredibly strong and I'm sure it will not be affected.
