Information propane or cng

Quick question, I have heard of some guys adding fittings over each intake port and the using a regulator from a gas appliance, forming a homemade propane/cng kit. Do yall think it is worth it? Have heard it said they save on diesel and run propane which was cheaper.. thoughts,, opinions?????

propane and CNG are two different things. CNG and propane both have less energy than diesel so unless you can pick it up about 2/3 to 1/2 the price of diesel per gallon its not 100% worth it unless you want stricly power gains and in that case both are just more fuel and unless you have upgraded turbo cause you need air to burn that new fuel.

propane on a indirect injection 6.5 can be dangerous if not done with a kit. predetonation can happen very easily compared to direct injected engines. needs to be tuned very precisely so you dont blow the engine

Thats kinda what I thought. I thought I read somewhere that propane won't compression fire, but not sure where I read that. Biggest thought was accidental building of an intake bomb. Not really in the mood for that yet
