2 stroke oil

Ashless 2-stroke oil should NOT clog the DPF... It's ashless fuel-oil just like diesel. They use it in Europe in CDI's and TDI's...same technology, in fact our technology originated there first. They're always one step ahead of N.America due to their more stringent economy and emissions regulations. But if you jump in some of the European/Australian forums you'll see they're using it, too.

Poured in the appropriate 1:200 mixture today. Filled up the entire full tank. Should be a good mixture.
But haven't recognized any difference back home. It's only a 2 and 1/2 mile trip.
I think there is still unmixed fuel in the fuel filter and in the VP.
I will perform an emission test to see any differences in numbers. I will keep it posted.
But I'm looking forward.
Ah, forgot to mention: I used Mobil 1 TCW-3 2 stroke oil. Not really cheap, but I don't want to risk anything.
Thanks Kevin (K50), for giving me the needed informations!

No problem Michael!

Here- I orignially posted this in January:

I found it very interesting that they've been doing similar things in Europe, with DPF equipped vehicles. There's even been some testing done by Mercedes and some German University apparently. The author of the thread stated that at his annual emissions test, he's seen a 30-50% reduction in soot and particulate, and his DPF regen cycle interval has gone from ~600km to about 1000km. Interesting stuff!! All with ashless or low ash oil and not fully synthetic 2-stroke oil.
