Sorry, but I don't know you from Jack, and from the sound of your postings I'm becoming less and less inclined to believe anything you post. I don't play the he-said, she-said game or refer to any phanton test studies, just my own personal experience. Take it with however many grains of salt you choose.

If Tinman was smart he wouldn't put much stock in what some salesman trying to sell him product says either.

Can't wait to hear about that.

wonder who was your salesman who sold you the 2 stroke oil...he saw you coming..i know someone had to tell you or you had to read it on line here some where. so whats the difference in talking to a trained person on a specific product, or doing it from reading a post on here? I doubt you thought of it on yer own. you were sold. and truth be known, if you did go to a additive like Power Service or Amsoil, you would notice a increase in performance because you increased the ctane while you were at it.And i REALLY doubt that 2 stroke oil helps to CLEAN your fuel system and injectors. But hey guys i really just want to help educate but the peeps that don't want to have an open mind...well buy your 2 stroke oil.

Check it out, does say 2-stroke will help lubricate and may increase mph but very little. Doesn't increase cetane or used as a cleaner. I also never said school is the only way to learn, I worked in shop for 2yrs before school and now in another one. I learn more from experienced techs that have been in business for years!! They know best!! Ok 2-stroke will help lube "SORRY I was mistaken", but doesnt do anything else and IMO which is ONLY an opinion, doesn't pay to use it!! The additives you buy and they sell does it ALL for you!! If your trying to save a couple bux then maybe it's worth it to you, but isn't getting the same qualities as a good additive. I'm no sales man either but it's your own choice.
I think most of us vp guys are not using the 2 stroke oil for mpg gain, but for lube of the pump. For like $8 it's good for 128 gallons. I am sure if you just mixed in a little cetane booster with it, it would be right up there with the other ones.

I think you guys are just being cheap with your additive. I get PS 18.00 treats 250 gallons!!! Most of the labels, NOT ALL say shouldn't use every fill up. When I use additives doesn't make my truck run any diff either. Believe what u want but I use PS and Hess fuel and NEVER EVER had any problems. My vp is happy as is!!! Also my father bought his 01 in 02 and until 2008 NEVER ADDED ANY ADDITIVES. I own truck now and EVERYTHING is clean!!! Tank is good, truck has 91,000 on it and runs AMAZING!!!

Congratulations on a job well done keepin your truck clean. Time for everybody to move on here, this topic has successfully been beat to death. Every point that coul possibly be made has long since been covered. We don't like to close threads because somebody may have some good info to add later and we don't want to miss that chance.

Took you long enough to come to your senses....

It does save money. It saves premature replacement of fuel pumps and injectors. I'm no tech, I'm a mechanical engineering technologist blah blah blah...who cares what my background is... I've read more research that supports the use of 2-stroke than rejects it. And the thing you need to realise is that there's always corporate backing for certain opinions. It is in the best interest of fuel companies and aftermarket additive companies to reject the claims of improved performance when using 2-stroke oil because it cuts into their bottom line. But for those of us who know...it works. And it works well. That's good enough for me. My truck will be running 1:200 until it dies.

Hahaha, thats to funny to read.
Half a year ago I would never use 2-stroke oil in my Diesel.

I live in Europe where you can get premium, ultimate Diesel at the gas station with a cetane number of 55 or higher.

Then I found out by a little research on this Forum about 2-stroke oil. Two weeks ago I got a military order in my hand to use 2-stroke oil in military engines.
It's in the TM's ( technical manuals) original by Mercedes!!!!
Since that I use 2- stroke with confidence. I trust the military labs because they are independent and hard in their testing.

There is only one thing I never ever would use:
Acetone

Have you ever seen what Acetone does to O-Rings and sealants???

They get hard and break very easy. Only an i.... would use a "degreaser"
It destroys everything made of plastic and any lubricating surface...

Used engine oil in fuel?

Not a wise decision- used engine oil contains contaminats smaller than 20micrometers that passed the main filter. They act like sandpaper in the pump.
Did I already mentioned that the injector pump has the finest tolerances in an engine?
That would be a stupid thing to use dilluted fluids in such sensitive devices.

It is funny to read that somebody cares of saving me "a couple of buxs". I know the price of injectors and injection pumps very well.
A price thats hard to afford.
But I can easy spend 15 "buxs" on a bottle of full Synthetic 2-stroke oil.
Thats the major difference.

I would never have believed that I can increase my mpg.
Ok, its only 1mpg. But a mile is a mile.
The bottom line is that I don't save anything-expenses and spending is equal -but who cares?

In the long run the engine develops less wear- thats the important point to me.

Evidently stinker's never heard of the Centinel system, either.

Dang youngsters.

Here's my current WMO filtration setup:

http://stuff.is-a-geek.net/PhotoAlbu...cs/Filter5.jpg

Holds 4 gallons, 2 stages, 10um and submicronic with a pump to circulate it until it's cleaner than the new oil you pour out of the jugs brought home from the store.

Don't believe it's cleaner than new...definately probably had ALL the additives filtered out..with nothing to clean your fuel system because its too hazardous and all the wierd stuff introduced i would hate to see what your drivetrain looks like... not sold. But maybe its my age...cause i definatley don't know anything about fuel additives and oil LMAO. your a funny guy, but i do like your input. keeps me entertained!
