I agree. They jump the price whenever they want for no reason. I don't know how the people With rv's or travel trailers are gonna be able to travel this summer, they are predicting 4.00$ gas in KANSAS this summer. Who knows what they will do.

CNN headline news just reported the reason for the jump in gas prices is because 8 times more refiner capacity has been shut down than usual....

Topic Report: 2007 U.S. Summer Refinery Outlook

by Michele Markey

The recent run-up in gasoline and diesel prices has highlighted the strong demand for refined products so far in 2007. As the peak driving season approaches, one of the critical concerns is whether there is enough refining capacity to handle the seasonally high demand. This topic report will review current refinery capacity and the availability of gasoline to meet U.S. demand growth this summer.

Refinery Maintenance, Planned and Unplanned Turnarounds: There have been a larger-than-normal number of refinery shutdowns in the last couple of months, both planned and unplanned. U.S. refinery turnarounds shut down 1.5 MMBpd of capacity last month. Maintenance projects have curtailed 500 MBpd so far this month.

Although not directly related to refinery turnarounds, the switchover from winter to summer grades of gasoline requires operational changes to meet summertime demand. As a result, there has been a large drawdown in winter grades of gasoline to make storage space available for summer grades. In addition, refiners focused on producing heating oil at the expense of gasoline production because of recent cold snaps in the Northeast.

OMG! I'm driving the diesel a lot more now!

But still the goldwing is more enjoyable on a warm summer day!

West Central Ohio area where I am at I have seen Unleaded Regular from 3.199 -3.359 and diesel from 2.699 -2.899. I have a feeling once they no longer need the storage for Summer Grade Gas, we will see diesel start to rise. Fuel Distributor we deal with at the Sawmill said the lack of extra storage is his understanding of why diesel has been staying lower.
