Smile JP-8

hey guys if you really want some sort of money back in yur wallet from fuel prices then think again about what yur sayin, lets look at it like this combine your weekly spending habbits such as food at taco bell or anyother place, your tobacco your magazines, movies candy i could go on and on. now take that amount of which you have probably already spent ad one weeks worth of all that money spent and i will bet that it is at least twice the amount than what it would cost to fuel up your truck. i have a 1996 5.9l 4x4 all stock cept the fuel pump is turned up a little for black smoke on those tree huggin pot heads. and i still get 290-310 depending how nice im driving in so cal. now if im strapped for cash i mix some jp-8 that has been spilled after filtering of course. and i mix that with rest of diesel#2 and i will get 340 miles to the tank and if u say lier than fine call me a lier im the one that aint filling up every few days or every 150-200 miles. please dont take this the wrong way im just tryin to help out as best as i can.

Well you better not mix in too much. Bein in the military, they run mostly JP-8 except on a lot of the newer vehicles and it just costs as much in maintenance as they save runnin these diesels on it. There's just not enough lubricity in that fuel and it eats up injection pumps along with a host of other problems. I'm no professional mechanic, but I don't think I'd do much more than a 5% mix.

I'm thinking that with a 34 or 35 gallon tank, 340 miles per tank isn't very good. I've got a '96 2WD and can typically go 500+ miles on a tank between fills. I could go further, but I'm not sure how dry I can get the tank and at 20+ mpg, I can drive out a lot farther than I care to walk back.
