yeah i wouldn't chance running it in a newer common rail. But older oil burners are fair game IMO.

I've run 15 year old diesel that had slime on the top of it. I filtered it off and put it in an old detroit diesel excavator. It fired right up and ran great. The only downside was the exhaust smelled really bad.

yea i dont believe the newer trucks would enjoy it very much, but you could be safe putting it in an old 12 valve. but really who knows the magic number of years

Watch out cause diesel does get allgie in.. espically common with biofuel.. and once you get allgie in your tank the only way to really get rid of it is steam your fuel tank, replace fuel lines, filters, clean filter bases, etc... It sucks wasnt a fun project at peterbilt that day...

I have ran some old diesel without any problems. I ran it in my old 97 chevy with the 6.5 TD. I also ran about 250 gallons of old home heating oil. It depends on what you will be running it in. Older engines especially the IDI's. I mean come on people run used motor oil, veggie oil, ect. A little old fuel wont hurt anything. If you are scared just cut it 50/50 old/new diesel.

I got some 40 yrold fuel this summerlooked fine,it was in a tank in a cellar,as I pumped it out I kept a close eye on it stayed nice & red.As always I have a tripple micron filter set up I let it set 1 month before using,I've been using it 2 months now along with Howes additive& walmart supertech 2 stroke oil(probaly much more than Ishould use) filter looks great, motor runs a little quieter as you can see my sig don't have to worry about dpf or egr!!
