could have also bleed all of the air out now, I'd drive it for a while and see if you get it back again

 

It is very sparatic, does it whenever it feels like it wants to I guess. I also used a hose instead of the draw straw because I screwed up when drillng the hole and put it to close to the side of the tank, if I used the straw it would have been about 1/2" off the bottom of the tank to be cut level. I put the hose into the stock resivor/pick-up container and I think that it might have moved on me. I am going to drop the tank and try zip tieing it in place, if that does not work I have another tank here that just might get used and try it again.

 

Whats a good FP reading, im seeing around 11 at idle and it drops down as low as 3 at full throttle. doesn't look normal to me.

 

U should be getting around 17 at Idle

I think it might have something to do with my draw straw then, sometimes when im driving itl climb up to 11 or 12 then shoot down to 9 psi on the highway.

i think ill drop the tank this weekend and add an elbow the the draw tube and have a hose go to the rear of the tank with a Tee laying on the bottom sideways. i dont like the fact the the straw has to be so far from the bottom of the tank. right now its sitting 1/4 from the bottom, it may be cavitating but having the tube sitting higher just makes me go crazy about all the fuel i wouldn't be able to use...


This weekend fo sho ill re-do the draw tube and make it draw from the very rear of the tank also.

I re-did my draw straw and now I see a steady 17# all the way to the bottom of the tank. On the way to TS I ran it down to E, the overhead read NO FUEL. I got to a station as fast as I could and put 35.9 gallons in a 36 gallon tank. I did not get a picture of the way we did the draw straw, but we used the same location and put a slight bend in the draw straw to match the angle of the tank. It was touching the bottom before the angle and now one side touches and the other side is 3/16" off the bottom.

 

you you cut yours at an angle is what your saying?

mine is flat and is just just about 3/16 off the bottom, i would cut it some more but i cant stand it not being at the bottom, ill see if i can add a pvc elbow to it and slice the end of the elbow at an angle so theres more surface area.

 

Not exactly. I cut it straight so that it was touching the bottom of the tank, maybe 1/32 off of the bottom. Then we took it out and heated up the PVC to put a bend in it and never adjusted the length. Now it actually pushes the bottom down a hair but I always have good FP, even when I was down to the last .1 gal I still had FP unless I made sudden movements like accelerating and breaking. Maybe if I get a wild hair some time I will drop the tank again and get a picture. Also note that I have the old draw straw from Air Dog that is a screw type, not the pop in and go.

 

I have the pop and go kind, it may be harder for me to pull it out

ima try and see if i can stick an elbow onto it if not, i have some brand new razor blades i can cut an angle into it

 

Just make sure that you do not get too far off of the bottom of the tank. The closer to the bottom the better if it is cut on an angle because it can not suck the bottom of the tank to it, it can only push the bottom of the tank down.
