I am new to this but I also have the same plans for an 1855 Oliver. That is kind of how I stumbles apon this great site. I am curious thought how it will work because I was told you should use a 5.9 industrial out of a tractor or another piece of equipment(has to do with the governor). I would love to see more pictures and hear a step by step process on the job. And another thing, I am not naming names but Olivers never came with cummins in them, Waukeshaw(gas or diesel) and GM diesels and Perkins 354 diesels were the only motors offered in an Oliver.

I beg to differ, when an oliver or white came to the dealer with a bad engine, a cummins was offered as a replacement for the bad engine. They were never offered in a new tractor but were offered as a replacement.

Yeah I've seen alot of those 5.9L Cummins put in Olivers.I used to work at an Oliver dealer never ran across them but heard that the Cummins swap was popular.I don't belive any of those came out with Cummins only the waukesha.
