OEM rating was 120hp, and he figures he's about 150 now.
Plus, here's an after comment:
"Used to pull the 34' cultivators in Hi-2 at 2600 RPM, now it pulls them in Hi-2 at 1800 RPM, with some black smoke, but you can still see through it so it's all good."

Default 2550 John Deere fuel & air issues

My tractor has a miss and is blowing back smoke. I've talked to some people around town and they said to replace the injectors. I replaced the injectors and there's not been any change. I changed the fuel filter and air filter too, and that didn't make a difference. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be?

Thanks!

But the 1 screw that will not turn when engine is stopped is fuel. You will need to put tractor in neutral. Then find a scocket to fit nut in bottom pully. And rock crank back and forward. Turning screw at the same time. Only way to do it. Im not sure on American spec deeres what kind of turbo is on it. But to turn up more than a quarter of a turn7hp. You need a turbo with a waste gate. Are you will over fuel and possibly melt holes on your pistons!!!! Same as the old uk made Marshall 802/904 tractors. Also turning a 00 deere will blow head gaskets so think about it first

It smokes pretty bad with 2 turns, but 1 isn't bad. This video is a Perkins with his fuel turned 1 turn.
YouTube - Massey Ferguson 3545 with fuel turned up 1 whole turn
Give her a half turn yet. Will do 180hp safely

It's a non-turbo tractor. I talked to a neighbor this morning. He thinks the pump may be turned up. He's coming down to see if he can turn it back down. Hoping its not been turned up long enough to hurt the motor. He said it sounded like someone has tried to make a big tractor out of a small one

Who looks stupid now . Its the 6400 has the turbo. I see the wire seel is of the pump so could well be turned up to far. I wouldn't worry about harming the motor. The 4cyl deere is bomb proof. With exception of the head.motor in the 6400 can take 120hp believe it or not? Ive dyno'ed 3 doing the 120 and a contractors 6410 doing 135!!! On the shaft. wee tractor was fitter than his 6810.
