Stihl Weedeater Problems
#11
Hell this is a $600 Stihl weedeater with less then 20 hours on it. This is why I buy cheap mowers and throw em away at the end of the season. No messin with this kinda stuff.
I pulled the whole carb off, fuel tank off and all the fuel lines lose. Couldn't find anything apparent being wrong. No clogs, cracked or rotted lines, wet fuel spots, and no filter. I'm up for anymore suggestions though cause I hate to know what the shops are gonna charge me to fix this.

What youtalkin about. Even i can't mess up mixin fuel and oil. That's why I use a 2 gallon jug, it makes it simple. A gallon of oil and a gallon of fuel. Even I can't screw that up.

Well I take it you pulled the Carb, there has to be adjustment screws for the carb, HAS TO BE! Otherwise it would run way to rich at high altitude, and lean at sea level. Pull off the muffler, look down the exhaust port, and turn the engine over, if the piston looks burnt or scored its toast, you either ran it with the wrong mix, or the carb was tuned to lean. And what model is this? FS250? If you paid $600 you got raped. I could buy it at my dealer with the bike handles for less than $500.
Here's whats left to check: Coil, Carb (Just get a new one, there not that expensive) Tank Vent (Might explain the starting then dying, try running it with the cap off or loose), Plug Wire, Plug, Piston & Jug.
After that its down to plastics and your bottom end , of the trimmer that is.

ALLWAYS PUT STAY-BIL IN ALL YOUR TWO CYCLE GAS YOU MIX. TWO CYCLE GAS BREAKES DOWN FASTER THAN NORMAL I FOUND IT BETTER TO USE 92 OCT. GAS. THE HOLES IN THAT CAR ARE SO SMALL A LITTLE GUM IN IT WILL CAUSE IT TO RUN BAD. PUT A LITTLE CAR CLEANER IN GAS AND RUN IT AS MUSH AS YOU CAN. IT MAY CLEAR
UP WITH A LILLLE ADJUSTMENT.

clogged spark arrestor
I see someone else mentioned the spark arrestor which is a plate on the face of the muffler designed to stop sparks from exiting into the wild blue yonder that will get gummed up from being a 2-stroke. The screen is quite fine and is easily clogged by running a little rich during warm-up with the choke on. My wacker was doing the same thing and i tried several things that have been posted but once i took this thing off ....wha la runs like a champ.........hope this is your prob..................Jonesy p.s. I took mine off and left it off
