Sorry, I didn't see this. Try Yanmar. The guys downstairs are using one for an engineering design contest and its about the size of a kohler.

http://www.yanmar.com/docs/LVSeriesLit.pdf

If you want I can go downstairs and pull some dimensions for you.

How about a picture or a link to a site that shows this machine. This would give batter idea of what you need to those of us that don't know the JD lines off the top of our heads.

we've got a Perkins 3cyl in our JD 455 that looks like it just might fit its liquid cooled though.... but is all crammed into the engine compartment. Swing into your local JD dealer and take a gander at them to get a idea of the size of the motor.

Personally Id start fresh and get a Kubota mower with a 3cyl kubota diesel

X2 on the Kubota. Send that green thing down the road .. but I might be a little biased growing up on red.

we've had John Deeres and Cub Cadets in the past to do all of our lawns... cubs couldnt keep up, the JD's fall apart too fast so now were up to 3 Kubotas and dont plan on changing anytime soon!!

You could go way classy and get yourself an old farmall with a 54" woods belly mower.

or you could go orange

On second thought those aren't diesel ... but they are still my choice
