new 99 powerstroke owner
so check it out went from a 98 cummins 4x4 5 speed to a 99 f350 4x4 crew cab dually and love it. only thing done is a cold air intake and a muffler delete pipe. its never seen a programmer or anything. just lookin for a cheap list of mods i can do.
so is injectors really 2000 a set? or can i get bigger tips?
wat programmer is best? seems to do great on fuel but a little more never hearts so would a programmer set on mileage really do anything?
4 inch downpipe 5 inch out would that help any power wise?
also wanting a 35 inch tall tire but have stock rims not sure if i can run a tire that size 275-90-16? is that a 35 tall tire?
turbo upgrades, exhaust, programmers, any info is best. it is automatic 266k miles does not leak or burn any oil. starts rite up. lookin for more hp and ,maybe fuel mileage. thanks guys new to the powerstroke group

For the injectors, Yes they are that expensive for a "new" set... Much cheaper to get them rebuilt. Check out Rosewood, A site sponsor here...
For the programmer, I would just get a TS style chip with custom tunes from any of the tuners like Swamps, Tony Wildman, Beans, Tyrant...etc... Do a search for more if you still want more options...
Exhaust will help a little but won't gain you a bunch of power. Mostly just allows the engine to get the exhaust out more efficiently...
Not sure about the tires with a dually... You can put a 35" tire on a factory wheel although some places might not suggest it... According to the tire calculator, the tire you stated is a 35" tire.
Decide a power goal keeping in mind what you use the truck for and a budget, then move forward from there.

Issue with 35" tires on a dually is: The tires can't touch, EVER. Can it be done, yes, but you need to do a few things:
1. Pick your tire, technically you want as small a tread profile as possible or you run the risk of having the tread stick out of the dually fender. This may touch in bumps and rip up the fender or tire. 235-265 probably would be a safe metric profile, 8.5 or 9.5 in inch profiles are safe.
2. You have to run a wider profile, and fender damage be damned! OK, now you'll need to run longer wheel studs, reason for that, you'll need a spacer between the duals so the tires don't rub. You want about 2" between the tires when its setting still, MINIMUM, remember the taller the tire, the more it will flex in turns and bumps.
3. You need to get at least a leveling kit, a 2 or 4" lift would be better.
I'm running the 36.1" semi tires (255/70R22.5) and the wheels are made to keep the tires apart, plus the sidewalls are stiff as hell since they're made to support the weight of a loaded up semi, not some "light weight" 1 ton. Rides like a buck board, but the tread wear rocks, and how many other trucks run around town on 22.5's? In my town me and a scummins (a rusted out $1000 truck with 3000+ wheels and tires, what a waste).
TS chip is the only way to go
Get some gauges to monitor at least EGT's. trans temp is a good idea, and boost is a handy gauge of what all is going on with the turbo and exhaust donuts.
Rebuilt sticks save money and work fine. Get at least a stage 2, you get a stage 1 and soon your wishing you went to a stage 2, might just as well buck up and buy stage 2's. Be sure to get single shots and a TS to support them, wayyyy better. Rosewood and Swamps a re good choices for them.
if you do the 4" down pipe, just make the turn and then dump the exhaust, turbo diesels don't want/need any exhaust restrictions, quicker you dump the exhaust the better. Ideal exhaust would be a 4" straight pipe right off the turbo exhaust out the side of the truck, the shorter the better. The bigger exhaust lets it breath easier for slightly quicker spooling
Do the TS first, most places will re-program for free as you upgrade (at least swamps has done that for me)
Exhaust anytime
Injectors as you have the money
Big enough injector will need a 38r turbo if not more. With big injector and big turbo comes bigger HPOP oil pump.
Gotta pay to play

Nothing about Diesel's are cheap. Other's might have some more info for ya but a 38r would probably be a good turbo choice for those injectors considering its really your only drop-in turbo upgrade.
Does that truck have an auto tranny?

As has been stated, decide what power range you want to be in, then build accordingly. Keep in mind that after the grin wears off, you might be wanting even more power. You can get 238/100's and have them tuned down to match the rest of your mods. That will keep you from having to buy injectors down the road. It's not necessary, but something to think about.
Here's a starting point:
Regulated return fuel system(check out sponsors kits or you can DIY)
Stage II-ish injectors
EGT, boost and trans. temp gauges-MUST HAVE for chips/programmers
38R turbo
Comp 910 valve springs some say pushrods and head studs. To each his own.
TS style chip with custom tunes- Live tuning is far and away the best.
Stash some money away for that BTS transmission
Have fun.
