Default transmission go boom

well yall i blew my trans. so ive got a couple questions about what to do with a rebuild. the trucks gunna be at 500rwhp once im done so i know i wanna build it to hold that.

1st question whats a ball park number on what it will cost so i dont get bent over backwards

2nd question is there anything special that should be done (it alrdy has a bigger pan)

3rd question any particular parts to use (a local trans shop is going to do the build)

step 1. call BTS.
step 2. give them your credit card.
step 3. install and never have to worry about it again.

$4200 bucks.

Bigger pan does squat, most builders tell you not to run one, more fluid is just more to heat up and more to cool down.

Dont. Been there done that. I went thru 5 trannys in less then 60k from a local builder, each one "could not be broke" and over and over again he kept adding something else, something new, something differnet... Each time hitting me up for the added parts and labor. His warranty was worth chit. The last time he "built it" (I use the word loosely) he said dont come back, I cant do anymore.

I had about 9k in tranny, parts and labor at that point.

Call BTS, and be done.

If you were staying Stock, I would say, just have a local builder do his thing with a triple disk and an upgraded valve body.

500hp and you will break a local build period. Do it right the first time.

Nope... There is typically a 2-3 month wait.

Whats wrong with your tranny? You might be able to bandaid it for the time being.

John Woods is good... I also know that David at Diesel Innovations builds trannys now (in house) so he is fairly close to you...

I would bet you cooked the TC or broke the foward drum...
