I lifted my F250 exactly 5.5" in the front and 4.5" rear and was planning to run a set of 35's, but was given a set of 37x12.5 military goodyear OZ tires. I really like the looks of the military tread and if I ever need another set they are extremely cheap.

I need 16.5" rims (would like black); I'm looking and waiting on a fair deal. I'm not a need to have it this instant type of guy. I'm looking at rims with a 4.5" backspacing assuming that I can run them with what I have for a lift. Has anyone run these tires with/without rubbing and what was your lift and wheel backspacing?

I'm willing to grab a set of Bushwacker cutouts if the tires stick out enough to fill up some of the flare. Or I'll lift the truck another inch with an AAL if that's needed. Just as long as I keep the bottom of my bumpers under 33" for legality.

 

i think ive got a set of 16.5x10s in my back yard but im not sure. they may be 16.5x12s (guy had 36x14.50 tires on them) they are steel wheels and i have no clue what the back spacing is but ill pm u my cell number so u can txt me and i can send u a pic of them if yad like (ill get more info on them when i get home from class)

 

I'm looking for 16.5x10's or 16.5x9.75's, either one would work.

 

I'm thinking about the same thing, can get a set of 37's take off's with 90% tread for $500!

From what I read they wear well, are decent overall between road and snow, and at $70-80 a tire they're cheap as heck. The set I have look great and if they're ran on a 10k lb (or whatever they weigh, they ain't light) then they'll be fine on the super duty.

 

i lied about the wheels that i have they r 16.5x12 so that wouldnt work for ya. srry man

 

Just an update. I ebay'ed a set of rims, so I guess I'll find out if they fit or not.

 

To follow up on this post:

The short, I do not have an answer about fitting Military 37's with 5.5". However, with about 7" of lift they clear without any issues.

I had a broken front leaf, so I ended up with new front springs and just a hair over 7" of front lift. The rear has 4" of lift on top of the F350 sized blocks that came in the E99 (so what, 6" roughly of rear lift?). With that, I have zero issues clearing these 37" Military OZ tires. From lock to lock there are no issues rubbing with 4.5" backspacing wheels (E99, leaf sprung front).

Mounting these tires are a bear and that's an understatement. The sidewalls have very very little flex to them. Balancing was ok. I had them balanced on a road force balancer (has a roller that simulates a load as you balance) and found two to be slightly out of round. Those two went on the rear of the truck with one being 42lbs road force and the other 70lbs of road force. the 70lb'er started out with 100lbs road force, but removing and rotating it on the rim to a different position brought it down to 70lbs. I don't have the specs for a HD truck, but the max road force recommended for a LT truck tire is 42lbs ish.

My friend and I went for a ride and there are where no vibrations and when we watch the rear tires they do not vibrate, bounce, or wiggle as one would expect with a higher road force number. So I guess the 70lbs of road force is good to go on such a heavy tire/truck. Right now they are only aired to 40lbs.

I got a bit of death wobble initially and found that the track bar had loosen up. Once that was tight again there was no wobble and that's without a dampener (it's still on order).

Overall, the tires have a slight hum to them nothing major compared to the loudness of the 7.3. Took them out in the rain and they were fine.

 

Does anyone have a line on where to purchase these military tires?

I have 16.5x10 wheels and I usually run the BFG All Terrains, but I am unable to locate or the tire store and Costco are unable.

Been looking for a set of stock 16" wheels and a 315 tire, anyone have a set they want to sell?.

Still may do that but would like to have a set of winter tires for the 16.5's.

 

shes got 37xeither 12.50 or 15 cant remember and i rub on the springs ith 8.5 suspension lift and the bushwackers

keep me post on how they handle in offroad conditions if you do that im thinkin that sounds pretty good
