Default what turbo?

the front of my turbo is leaking oil so now that im starting my new job im going to save up for a new turbo, which would be thee best turbo for the money? this is a dd and i do tow with it, im not looking to spend an arm and a left n*t and i figured while i have it apart i might as well change the stuff for the EBPV and also put a 4in down pipe on it,

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

or should i just rebuild the whole turbo? its leaking from the part thats facing the front of the motor,

the garret is a pretty good drop in, just depends on where you wanna go with your truck really, and the part that connects to the intake manifold? or??

the part that connects to the spider that drops into heads? right at that connection back is covered in oil, with the valley right below it has a puddle, the one thats on the truck is a garret, is that a stock turbo? just a good daily driver that is still good for pulling a trailer and im not looking at spending 1200 bucks ither, im not looking at goin more than fiveoo horse power ither,

the stock turbo is a garret yes, but the garret i'm talking about is a dual ball bearing turbo (spools really fast) you wont find a decent turbo under 1200 bud, see if you can find a good used Garret 38r and that will be a good turbo up to 500

oh wow, well that sucks haha, so what your saying is that garret is like one of thee best? or is there a better turbo for that price? cause if im going through all this work im not going to put a used one on there and a few years down the road i dont have to pull it off again,

stock to the ground is roughly 200? and garret is about as good as a drop in turbo you can get, if you want to go more expensive you can go the route of a Hypermax H2E, Precison Billet set up from Black Widow, Wide Open Performance has a few different set ups

okay. now ive been reading and noticed that people say the turbo noise decreases from stock, is there anything i can do to make it louder? i like my turbo noise , and also when i buy one does it come with the inlet and outlet wheel housings things or just one side? are all garrett 38 turbos the same? cause i noticed theres 38r and just 38
