how to question
 

how can i mount my 6 pos. chip so its not dangling from underneath my steering wheel? i would like to have it in a set spot so i don't have to search for it going down the road ha, any help is appreciated

i just pulled my dash apart and found a good place to mount it that had room behind for the wire and stuff and drilled the hole.
takes more time to find a good spot, than anything else, the install is a snap.
mine was on a 95 but it was right next to the cubby hole on the right side of the steering column

My wife has hers mounted to the removeable access panel.

ok now how do i get it through the hole? and will it stay put or will i need to be careful turning it?

When you look at the switch you will see a small allen head screw in the bottom of the knob. Remove it and the knob will come off. Then you will see a nut (brass) and the "stud" you need to drill for. Be careful as there is a limiter ring under that brass nut that keeps the switch at 6 settings.

Drill the hole ( I think its 1/4" but don't quote me) and then push the switch thru from the back side. Put the nut on, tighten it down snugly and reinstall the knob. Its not hard at all.

oh ok, i think i will do it next to the steering wheel? thank you for all the help :c:
one more question, how in the hell have you learned all of this ha? seems like you know damn near anything there is to know about these trucks
