fuel in coolant
I have a 2000 powerstroke and im getting fuel in the coolant im going to replace all the injector orings and the sleeves, would bad orings and sleeves cause my engine to overheat?
I,ve replaced the glow plugs last winter but i,ve had an overheating problem for a couple of years now started out only when towing now its all the time plus fuel in the coolant needless to say it just sits now until i can fix this problem, as far as the tool i saw a site were this guy made one and now hes saling them for around 450 i,l just make my own, i,m still worried about this overheating problem is it the orings or sleeves?
The fuel in the coolant could be causing the overheating, depending how long the fuel has been getting in there and how much is in there. someone correct me if im wrong? I would think fuel in there wouldntbe helping the cooling process.
Injector cups...
Dont do just the o rings without replaceing the cups or you "SHOULD" replace the o rings again as well...
I just got done doing this, it is NO fun, but not that hard... It took me about 8 hours of work to pull the injectors, cups, new cups, new o rings, change and flush coolant (several times) and install some other parts and pieces...
just cups should take about 5 hours... if you take your time.
