27 mpg is far fetched for the description of his setup. My 2000 CC's best is 20.5 from Boulder, CO to SLC, UT and 21.5 back. If I was driving the speed limit I would have gained a little (.5 to 1 mpg) but no fun in that

Edit: I put a stock engine back in the F350 BTW w/ the usual mods and custom tuning for milage.

He may be going off of his overhead display. Not sure about the Diablo, but chips and programmers can throw them off a good bit. Tell him to hand calculate it and see what he comes back with. If he still says 27mpg then he needs to come tell us his secrets.

Exactly, and the DMax is the same way. Once you use a power adder it throws the MPG calculator off because it uses an algorithm based on factory settings. He probably didnt correct the ECM for different tire size.

If that were true, then maybe a 6.0 could hit 27mpg (which doesn't happen) cause my 7.3 gets 20 on the hwy as it is...

but thats about max -- even with a programmer that likely may go up 1-2 more mpg, but no more.

no way in hell a 4x4 lifted on 35's is gettin better mileage than me

im throwing a bullshit flag on this play, that will be a 15 yard penalty and a swift kick in the nuts to the offender.....no way can he be getting 27 mpg, with the taller tires it throws the odometer off, plus with the programmer it throws the overhead off even more.....so that is how he's getting 27 mpg........hes an idiot.....
